 The main branch of the Massachusetts Registry of Motor Vehicles is located at 630 Washington Street in the Chinatown Section of Boston, MA. The Registry's Driver Control Unit, which handles license suspensions, reinstatements, hardship licenses, hearings, medical affairs, and interlock violations is located at this branch. Also, the Board of Appeal is located here and conducts hearings on the 3rd floor. You can obtain a copy of your Massachusetts driving record from the RMV in Boston. The Mass. RMV in Boston is the only location where RMV Breathalyzer Refusal Hearings are held.
Directions From the South.
Route 93 north to Exit 20. The sign gives you 3 choices--South Station, Chinatown or Airport. Follow the road toward South Station & Chinatown (NOT the airport). At the 2nd set of lights take a left onto Kneeland Street. Go straight to the 3rd set of lights (there is a McDonald's on the corner) and turn right onto Washington Street. Go through one set of lights and the RMV is on the right at the next set of lights at the intersection of Essex, Washington and Boylston streets. We are right next door to Dunkin Donuts under a red awning.
Parking is available to the public, for a fee, at the parking lot on Washington Street past the Registry on the right after Essex Street.
Directions From the North.
Route 93 south to Exit 20 to South Station. Proceed straight on Surface Road to the third set of lights and turn right onto Kneeland Street. Turn right again at the McDonald's on the corner of Washington Street. Proceed straight on Washington through one set of lights and the RMV is on the right at the next set of lights at the intersection of Essex, Washington and Boylston streets.
Parking is available to the public, for a fee, at the parking lot on Washington Street past the Registry on the right after Essex Street.
