Earlier this month, 52 people were arrested at an alcohol-fueled party in Plainville, Massachusetts. Seven of those arrested were under 21 years of age and a large amount of alcohol and marijuana was found at the party location. They were arraigned in Wrentham District Court. Those convicted of being a minor in possession of alcohol will have their licenses automatically suspended for at least 90 days. This mandatory suspension applies even where no motor vehicle operation is involved.
The Driver Control Unit of the Registry of Motor Vehicles will suspend for one (1) year, the driver’s licenses of those convicted of possession of marijuana, with the ability to be considered for a hardship license after serving 50% of the suspension time.
Police officers from Officers from Attleboro, North Attleboro, Foxboro, and Wrentham, Massachusetts assisted the Plainville Police Department with the arrests. The party took place at 14 Melcher Street and many of the party-goers were dressed in business suits, mini-skirts, and office attire. The theme of the party was “Business Hoes and CEOs.” Police responded to the party as a result of a parking complaint.
The Plainville Police have apparently taken a zero-tolerance approach to underage drinking since Taylor Meyer, a 17 year old girl was found dead in a swamp. She had been drinking at a party prior to falling into the swamp.
